Where does your penny go?

Where Does Your Penny Go? Straight to the Dogs and Cats Who Need It Most

We get it—there are a lot of organizations asking for donations. Some send calendars. Others send address labels, tote bags, or greeting cards. And while those things can be nice, they come with a cost.

At PennyFix, we do things a little differently. Actually—a lot differently.

When you donate to PennyFix, 100% of your donation goes directly to spay and neuter grants. Not most of it. Not a percentage after overhead. Every single penny.

That’s not just a promise—it’s how we’re built.

We’re Just Normal People Who Love Animals

PennyFix is run by a small group of board members who have day jobs, pets of our own, and a shared passion to make a difference. We’re not career philanthropists. We don’t have fancy titles or big offices. We're dog lovers, cat lovers, shelter volunteers, and rescue supporters who saw a simple, powerful solution and wanted to make it happen.

We believe that the best way to help animals is to prevent their suffering in the first place—and that means spay and neuter. That’s why we created a model where donations don’t fund “operations”—they fund action.

No Planes, No Perks—Just Purpose

PennyFix doesn’t own a plane. Or a building. Or anything fancy, really. We’re 100% volunteer-run, and we like it that way.

When you give to us, you’re not funding executive salaries or marketing campaigns. You're funding real, on-the-ground help for dogs and cats—grants that go straight to spay/neuter clinics, shelters, and rescue groups across the country.

Even the basics—like postage stamps, website fees, or envelopes—are paid for out of pocket by our board members. So if you ever receive a letter from us, know this: a fellow animal lover paid for that stamp.

We Don’t Send You Stuff—We Send Help

You’ll never receive a calendar, sticker, or tote bag from us out of the blue in the mail. We don’t believe in sending unsolicited gifts to try and get donations. Why? Because every dollar we spend on that is a dollar not going to spay or neuter a dog or cat—and we just can’t justify that.

That said, we do have some fun PennyFix merchandise—things like can covers, keychains, mugs, t-shirts, and sweatshirts—but here’s the difference: those items are purchased by our board members, not paid for with donation money. They’re tools we use to spread the word about our mission and start conversations that lead to action.

So if you ever see someone with a PennyFix keychain or wearing a PennyFix hoodie, know that it wasn’t part of a mass marketing campaign. It was a choice, made by someone who believes in what we do and wanted to help get our name out into the world.

Our focus stays where it matters most: on helping dogs and cats through spay and neuter. Every penny donated goes directly to that work—and always will.

We Don’t Wait—We Act

Some organizations hold onto funds for “the right time.” But we believe the right time is now.

That’s why we don’t maintain a savings account. If money is just sitting in a bank, there are dogs and cats who are still unfixed—and that’s not okay with us.

As soon as donations come in, we move quickly to award grants to trusted clinics and organizations. The sooner we fund them, the sooner more animals are helped—and the fewer unwanted litters will be born.

It’s Just a Penny. But It Changes Everything.

Our dream is simple: that one day, every dog and cat—whether in a home, in a shelter, or living on the streets—has access to the care they need. And that no one is turned away from spay/neuter because of cost.

When you give to PennyFix, you're not just donating. You're joining a movement. A grassroots, no-frills, all-heart effort to create a world where compassion leads the way.

And it starts with just one penny.
